SHERMAN OAKS—On October 20, the Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce will be holding the 23rd Annual Street Fair on
“We have a stage for live bands that play music and we have another stage that’s our community stage for school performances as well as our teacher of the year awards,” Nussbaum said.
Nussbaum said there will be nine bands playing throughout the day on the main stage and there will be international dancing and performances on the community stage. She added that the Miss California Latina Queens will be highlighted in the middle of the day.
Each year, there is a celebrity grand marshal and this year it will be celebrity meteorologist Josh Rubenstein of KCAL-9/CBS-2, according to Nussbaum.
In addition to the live music, there will be a pet expo that will be “dedicated to our furry friends,” Nussbaum said. During the pet expo, there will be adoptions, a cutest costume contest and a largest and smallest animal competition. For the first time ever, Nussbaum said there will be a cocktail and beer garden with a celebrity mixologist. “It will literally be an upscale lounge in the middle of
Nussbaum said they are anticipating at least 60,000 people with the potential for as many as 80,000, according to the estimate the Los Angeles Police Department provided them.
Several companies sponsor the Fair, but Nussbaum said the three main ones are
“[The] Sherman Oaks Chamber will continue the strong relationship between education and the business that has created donations of over $400,000 to local public schools,” said Bob Cohen, president of the Chamber. “We are fully committed to our community and our schools so we will continue to donate some of the proceeds from our Street Fair to our schools,” he added.
