STUDIO CITY—Cash mobs are bombarding Studio City this week! This entertainingly brilliant idea came from Samtoy who wanted to help a small bookstore in Cleveland back in November of 2011. With his idea and the support of the community, the store made eight times it’s daily take. From then on cash mobs have spread across the country to help local businesses.
The fun starts on Sunday, August 26, at North Hollywood Hardware. Come support this local business by purchasing hardware products to further the growth of North Hollywood Hardware and of the community. The store is located on 11847 Ventura Boulevard, and the cash mob will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
This is a special event, as Kost 103.5 and Mark Wallengren will be promoting the cash mob from 12 p.m.-2 p.m.
On Monday, August 26, there will be a cash mob at Ferrari Olive Oil Company at 8 p.m. The mob is meeting at Firestone Auto Repair parking lot located on 11905 Ventura Boulevard in Santa Monica, and from there will head towards Ferrari’s.
This locally grown business holds over 40 different flavors of award winning extra virgin olive oils and Artisa Balsamic Vinegars. They offer a complimentary tasting to customers and will be holding an after party at Out-Take Bistro with celebratory drinks.
If you find that you’re not in need of these items you can purchase something from the “A Habitat for Humanity” list. Purchased items will go to charity for future projects.
Samtoy’s three rules for cash mobs were to spend $20, meet three people you’ve never met before, and have fun! Come help these local businesses create awareness in the community allowing them to grow and stimulate us all!
