The fire was reported at 10:57 p.m. at the restaurant at 12036 Ventura Boulevard, near Laurel Canyon Boulevard. The fire was knocked down in 18 minutes and mainly charred an outside storage area.
The fire's smoke caused damages to the kitchen and office and left a male worker with smoke inhalation. The injured worker was reportedly taken to the hospital in good condition and identified himself as the restaurant manager.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and Du-Par's will remain closed pending a Health Department Investigation.
"We are temporarily closed. Our
back storage unit caught fire (electrical) last night, but we are so
grateful that everyone is Ok," stated the restaurant via its Facebook page. "Thank you for your concern. We will
re-open once we get the green light. Please stay tuned."
