LA City Council Approves Banner Program
Posted by Damian Kelly on Nov 30, 2011 - 8:28:02 PM

STUDIO CITY The Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted to approve a street banner program that will help to promote the Studio City Neighborhood Council and encourage members of the public to become involved.  During its weekly meeting on Wednesday, November 23, the council voted 12-0 in favor of approving the campaign proposed by Councilman Paul Krekorian of the 2nd District, which includes Studio City.

The purpose of the program is to urge residents in the city to get involved with the SCNC, according to information obtained from the LA City Council motion presented by Krekorian and seconded by Councilman Paul Koretz of the 5th District.  The banners, which will be placed on poles throughout the city’s streets, are also intended to beautify Ventura Boulevard, a busy main road that runs through the heart of the city.  In addition, the banners are intended to increase civic pride. The SCNC street banner program will run from February 27, 2012 to February 27, 2013.

Samples of the SCNC banners can be viewed at the City of Los Angeles’ City Clerk webpage by using Simple Search and inputting “Studio City Neighborhood Council/Street Banner program and then clicking on motion 11-1936.  They can also be accessed on pages 2 and 3 at clkrep.lacity.org/onlinedocs/2011/11-1936_mot_11-16-11.pdf
