A judge granted Ammar Harris's request for an identification hearing before any decision is made to extradite him to Las Vegas. Nevada authorities will attend the identification hearing on March 14 to ID the suspect. In the meantime, Harris will remain in a Los Angeles jail for a minimum of ten more days. A few minutes later, Harris opened fire twice at Cherry who received wounds to his chest and arm. The vehicle then crashed into a taxi which exploded and killed the 62-year-old male cab driver, Michael Boldon, and female passenger Sandra Suttion-Wasmund. Cherry was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Five others were injured due to the shootout and crash. Police have stated that an argument at a casino between Harris and Cherry ignited the incident. Harris was not alone in the Range Rover at the time of the shootout as he was accompanied by his alleged girlfriend, Yenesis Alfonso, as well as two others. Authorities stated the passengers are not considered suspects and will not face charges.
