STUDIO CITY—Residents who live in Studio City where Carpenter Community Charter School is located will not have to participate in the lottery process for their children to attend the school.
The principal of the school, Joe Martinez, sent out an e-mail to all individuals in the area to say there is room for those who live in the area to attend the school. In the e-mail, Martinez wrote that “we have space available for all resident applicants received during the Application Period that ended March 22. Applicants must be a resident at the start of the school year to complete the enrollment process.”
The e-mail went on to say that students’ enrollment is not official until the address provided for him or her is verified but their spot will be held until the verification process is finished. Martinez also asked that parents advise Carpenter Community Charter School if their child will not be attending their school next year and to do so after the school’s Spring Break.
A lottery will be held towards the end of April for those not residing in Studio City.
