The 16-year-old reported that she had been sexually battered three times by the same man between August 27 and September 30. After the third incident, the girl took a photo of the man and reported the crime to the Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau.
According to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Special Victims Bureau detectives, the assaults occurred on Metro bus line #761, “in the vicinity of Van Nuys Blvd/Vanowen St. and Van Nuys Blvd/Burbank Blvd,” stated the press release.
The girl told authorities that “the suspect would board the bus, sit next to her, cover himself in part with a sweater and then touch her,” according to the release.
Majdeddin Nahvi, a 59-year-old transient living in Canoga Park, was taken into custody on Tuesday, October 8, by officers with the LAPD Van Nuys Division bike team after the Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau released a crime bulletin with the suspect’s photo. Nahvi was later identified by the victim.
