Police Pursuit Leads To Suicide Attempt

STUDIO CITY—A woman shot herself in the head on Sunday, July 15 after being chased by the police through Hollywood and Studio City. The pursuit began when police received a report at approximately 3:30 a.m. that on the 700 block of Lillian Way gunshots were heard and a black Nissan was seen leaving the area.

Officers spotted the vehicle a few blocks away near Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street and tailed the car as the suspect, later identified as a female, refused to pull over when indicated to do so.

The pursuit continued west through Hollywood, then proceeded over the Hollywood Hills through Laurel Canyon and ended in Studio City. The suspect pulled into an underground parking garage in the 4500 block of Coldwater Canyon Drive. She then made a single shot to her head.
The suspect was rushed to the hospital but police stated her condition was grave.

Police reports have indicated that the woman, whose name has yet to be disclosed to the public, got into a scuffle with another woman who she then fired her gun towards and fled from the crime scene. The woman who was shot at was not injured, however, the investigation is ongoing. No additional information has been released as of press time.
