STUDIO CITY—A local business on Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Moorpark caught on fire Sunday night, October 14. The business was a massage parlor that is the office of the controversial traveling ads for “Topless Maids.” The parlor is attached to a liquor mart. The fire took half an hour to be controlled with the assistance of 55 firefighters.
Business owner, Sami Ammari has made headlines recently over his ads causing community disruptions in Studio City and Burbank. Neighboring businesses were thrilled to see the business up in flames, and hope it is removed to another location.
Ammari also had confrontations with the city of Los Angeles, as he was currently suing the city for restrictions placed on where his traveling advertisements could be displayed. Investigators are looking closely at the start of the fire and who is responsible to see if there’s a link between the controversies and the fire.
No one was injured during the fire.
