Car crash leaves two dead

TOPANGA CANYON—On Sunday, August 21, at around 3 a.m. a man was driving in a white 2006 Scion TC Sedan along with a female passenger Northbound on Topanga Canyon Boulevard. The driver was proceeding at a high rate of speed when he suddenly lost control of his car at a bend in the road south of Marilla Street. The car then collided with a utility pole on the eastside of Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
Car crash leaves two people dead and several without power and water
The breaking of the utility pole left almost 800 people within the area without power and water for the night and following morning. Power was fully restored around 12:45 p.m. to everyone, according to reports.
A Los Angeles Fire Department rescue ambulance correspondent announced both passengers dead on the scene. The names of these victims will not yet be released until direct notification of the closest family member. No apparent arrest has been made and the investigation is currently being handled by the Valley Traffic Detectives.
LAFD Valley Traffic Detectives want to remind drivers to always obey the speed limit and to be accompanied by a responsible and sober driver, according to a Los Angeles Police Department News Release.
