TOPANGA CANYON—On Monday, May 30, a 60-year-old man was transported to a local hospital due to a possible ankle injury while hiking.

The man, a hiker at Topanga State Park, was “hoisted” into a Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) helicopter and transported in fair condition to a hospital.

Erik Scott, LAFD spokesman, did not release the name of the hospital.

The statement released by the LAFD declares that the incident occurred at 17401 W. Vereda De La Montura at around 6:21 p.m.

Topanga State Park is located in the cliffs and canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains, according to the California State Parks website parks.ca.gov.
