—The Los Angeles Police Department Topanga Robbery detectives are asking for the public’s assistance with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect who robbed a business in the area. The robbery occurred on June 26 at around 8:40 p.m. on the 7500 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard near Canoga Park.

The suspect entered the business brandishing a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. He fled the scene of the crime with an unknown amount of cash, on a bicycle, likely a mountain bike. On July 1, at around 1:30 p.m. an attempted robbery took place in the same region, but a different business by the same suspect. He flashed a semi-automatic handgun and left the location on the same bike.

The suspect in both incidents is described as a Hispanic male, with black hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and 6 feet and 4 inches tall. He weighs between 150 to 185 pounds, and is believed to be between the ages of 20 and 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black sunglasses, a long sleeve black sweatshirt, blue shorts and white shoes.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Phillips at Topanga Community Police Station (818) 756-3521. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.”  Tipsters may also go to, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
