Man Charged With Kidnap And Rape

TOPANGA CANYON—A suspect has been charged with a dozen felony counts which include forcible rape and kidnapping in connection with an incident that occurred on July 4 at the Westfield Topanga Mall.

The 18-year-old male suspect, identified as Kioki Ray Snowden, was present for his arraignment on Monday, July 15, but due to unforseen circumstances it was moved to July 29 in Department 100 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch.

Snowden is charged with four counts of forcible rape, three counts of identity theft and two counts of kidnapping. In addition, Snowden also faces one count each of second-degree robbery, sexual penetration by foreign object, forcible oral copulation, sodomy by use of force and second-degree commercial burglary.

Snowden is being accused of the use of a deadly weapon, a knife that he used to kidnap and bound the victim against her will. An increased risk of harm developed throught the movement of the suspect.

The suspect proceded to kidnap the female victim at knifepoint as she returned to her parked car. He went on to sexually assault the victim before robbing her.

Prosecutors have set Snowden's bail at roughly $9 million. If convicted, he faces a maximum life sentence.
