TOPANGA CANYON—Over Memorial Day weekend, the 38th annual Topanga Days Fair will be held at the Topanga Community Club located at 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd. The fair will open on May 28 and continue through May 30.

Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to live music and participate in games. This year’s headliners include Jim Messina, Stray Cats’ Lee Rocker, Maggie Mayall and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Activities include events for the whole family. Parents can have their babies compete in the Baby Derby, where babies try to out-crawl each other. There will also be a pie eating contest, watermelon seed spitting event and team tug-o-war competitions.

Vegetarians, vegans and omnivores alike can enjoy a variety of foods. People can peruse vendors that will be selling clothing, jewelry and one-of-a-kind artwork.

Memorial Day will kick off with a parade. The costs for having the parade increase every year, and this year the Topanga Community Club asked for contributions to “Save the Parade.” This year the club has been working towards raising $6500 to cover expenses.

Parking is allowed along Topanga Canyon Boulevard and shuttles will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door with discounts for Topanga Canyon Club members, Military personnel and seniors. Children under 5 receive free admission.
