MALIBU/TOPANGA CANYON—There will be a hearing on June 2 to discuss the mandatory water conservation measures implemented by the Metropolitan Water District.

May 9, a small brush fire erupted in a canyon near Topanga Canyon; the fire was
ultimately put out in less then 90 minutes with no injuries.
A man
died while hiking with another person in
TopangaState Park
on Friday, December 26, 2008. The case is still currently under investigation
by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A man, around 60 or 70-years-old, jumped to his death on October 12 at Westfield Topanga mall. The name of the man has not been released. The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. behind a garage parking lot.
The body of a male victim was found inside of a burning vehicle on Tuesday, August 26. The incident occurred at
Topanga Canyon Boulevard and
Pacific Coast Highway. The victim remains unidentified.
Topanga Creek has been blocked by a 30-foot berm since the 1960s because locals changed the path of the creek to enable residential life; a city project has begun on August 11 to restore the area.
