WEST HOLLYWOOD—Last month, Bench Warmer and its owner Brian Wallos had a fundraiser for Children of the Night. The event was a grand success, and Wallos hosted a star-studded red carpet event at the Colony in Hollywood to help bring awareness to the homeless children in L.A., who oftentimes become victims of sexual abuse and exploitation. The event also raised funds for the charity, which is considered one of the most worthy and necessary organizations for kids in the city.
The event was called “Stars and Stripes Celebration” in honor of the Fourth of July and was held at The Colony in Hollywood. At 10 p.m., celebrities walked the red carpet and posed for photos. However, they all wanted to do more than just appear at a Hollywood premiere party. They all opened their hearts and checkbooks to benefit a worthy cause.
Purrfect Angelz performed several times. They are an all-female dance troupe based in L.A. EC Twins was the deejay of the event, but other celebrities included famous Bench Warmer models who attended: Brande Roderick, Jayde Nicole, Sara Underwood, Maria Kanellis, Torrie Wilson, Candice Michelle, Nikki Ziering and Peggy Tanous, to name a few. Thousands of dollars were raised for the charity thanks to the efforts of Brian Wallos and his constant support of Children of the Night.
Though the night was short, the friendships made will last a lifetime. During these tough economic times, charities are the first that we stop giving to, but their needs are just as great if not greater than ever before. Our nation’s children are our future, and this organization does its best to support the children on the streets to make sure they are not forgotten.
Children of the Night is a private, non-profit, tax-exempt organization that was founded in 1979. They are dedicated to assisting children between the ages of 11 and 17 who are forced to prostitute on the streets for food to eat and a place to sleep. Since 1979, they have rescued girls and boys from prostitution and the domination of vicious pimps. They provide all programs with the support of private donations. Their event two weeks ago was a huge help, but it was only a start. To learn more about Children of the Night, visit Childrenofthenight.org.
