WEST HOLLYWOOD—An American Airlines flight attendant trainee is expected to plead guilty next week to phoning in fake bomb threats to a former employer.
Patrick Cau, who also goes by the name of Patrick Kaiser, was fired from American Airlines after it was discovered he was on the “no-fly” list for making several fake bomb threats to his former employer United Airlines.
Cau, 40, allegedly called in eight bomb threats to United Airlines between October 2012 and January 2013, causing the airline to lose more than $250,000 due to flight cancellations and delays.
Cau, who is a resident of West Hollywood, was removed from the American training program in
Texas in May and was indicted on federal charges in the same month. He is expected to serve up to five years in prison and pay $250,000 in restitution.
