Employees Of The Abbey Charged With Rape
Posted by Sami Mello on Apr 5, 2013 - 8:11:05 AM

WEST HOLLYWOODThe Abbey, a popular gay bar and restaurant in West Hollywood, is under scrutiny after two women reported they were drugged and raped by members of the staff.

Because of the alleged incident, three employees of the Abbey have been cited in a multi-million dollar lawsuit with the victims seeking $10,000,000 in damages each case.

While at The Abbey in 2011, two women, on different occasions, claimed they were served drinks laced with the date rape drug, taken outside and then raped.

The victims of the alleged rapes claim the owners of The Abbey knew of the illegal drugging and sexual offenses taking place. The bar is being cited for negligent training and failing to supervise its employees.

The lawsuit, filed April 3, states an undocumented immigrant worker, Oscar Ihraheta was responsible for one of the attacks and supposedly squeezed the victims neck so hard that it bruised her.

In response to the incident, The Abbey released this official statement: “When the incident was brought to our attention, we cooperated fully with the local police on an investigation and no criminal charges were ever filed. We will continue to keep the safety of our customers and employees a top priority, as we have for the past 24 years.”
