WEST HOLLYWOOD—In protest of Vladamir Putin’s oppression against gays in
Russia, gay bars and clubs in
West Hollywood are protesting Stoli vodka by removing it from their shelves.
Russia has become increasingly more violent against gays, transgender, bisexual and the lesbian community. Chicago bar about a week ago. The movement has quickly spread across
America. LGBT activist are pushing to protest the 2014 Winter Games because of the law Putin signed allowing police officers to arrest tourists and foreign nationals that they suspect of being homosexual, lesbian or “pro-gay” and detain them for up to 14 days.
This could mean an Olympic athlete, trainer, reporter, family member or fan who is gay or even suspected of being gay could receive jail time. Other laws have been passed in
Russia to oppress gays.
