WEST HOLLYWOOD—A pet food drive will be hosted by the Pet Food Pantry on Monday, March 11 at the West Hollywood Pavillions. Donations for dog and cat food will be collected from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 8969 Santa Monica Boulevard.

The organization provides donated pet food to clients that use SOVA which is a community food bank in Van Nuys, West Los Angeles and West Hollywood.

“Our mission is to prevent abandoned and surrendered pets by supplying families in need with food for their pets,” the organization states on its website.

“To ensure that no pet goes hungry, the pantry provides free dog and cat food to anyone in financial crisis, counsels pet owners on proper nutrition for their pet and provides information on free and low cost spay and neuter programs.”

The Pet Food Pantry provided almost 3,000 pounds of pet food to SOVA in August 2012 and an additional 2,000 pounds in December in order to help feed pets.
