Relay For Life
WEST HOLLYWOOD—The Relay For Life event is being co-sponsored by the City of West Hollywood. It will feature individual relay teams of walkers and runners that will stay in motion for 24 continuous hours. They will be raising money for the American Cancer Society. The relay will launch on July 27 and run through Sunday, July 28. The run will begin at Rosewood Elementary School located on 504 North Croft Avenue.

The event allows participants the chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer and help fight the battle against cancer. It is one of the largest fundraisers in the world.

The first relay took place in 1985, when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a colorectal surgeon in Tacoma, Washington, walked and ran around a track for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The event has grown into a fundraiser taken part by more than 4 million people in 20 countries.

For more information about the event, to make a donation or to volunteer visit www.relayforlife.org/WestHollywoodCa. Individuals can contact Ian Owens at 323-848-6460. For the deaf and hard of hearing call 323-848-6496.
