WEST HOLLYWOOD— With a cool autumn breeze just starting to
blow, what better way to welcome the new season than with a night of shopping?
For fashion-conscious citizens around the globe and in West Hollywood, the
evening of September 6 will be marked to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out.
In West Hollywood, boutiques
and stores around the city have signed up to extend their open hours and hold
special events for shoppers from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sept. 6 for Fashion’s Night Out 2012. This is the city’s
third year supporting the event, which takes place in cities around the
world including Chicago, Manhattan, Vancouver, Paris, and London. Fashion’s Night Out started in 2009 by American Vogue,
the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of
New York as a way “to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the
industry’s economy during the recession,” according to the official website.
Though it is an international event, each city is bound to bring
a different flavor to their evening of fashion festivities.
“I think it’s unique because we’re a small city and really,
the whole city bands together to make it successful,” said Kristen Trzcinski, director
of film marketing and media for West Hollywood Marketing and Visitors Bureau,
in an interview with Canyon News. “We have a unique shopping experience, a mix
of more local boutiques and the high-end international brands.”
Among this mix of local and international brands are Christian
Louboutin, Code C, Dash, John Varvatos and J Gerard Peace Gallery. A dozen
stores have are currently signed up with more expected to join over the next

has her couture line but she also has her Peace Gallery line which is more
Beyond the nighttime shopping experience, Fashion’s Night Out
in West Hollywood will also feature the Second Annual Official After Party at
The Standard, from 10 p.m. to midnight.
“We invite the
community to come out and celebrate fashion. It helps support small businesses
in the community and it really just helps bring awareness to the fact that West
Hollywood is a hub of fashion,” Trzcinski said.
