WeHo Walkabout And Bike Ride
Posted by Shelby Stiner on Jul 17, 2013 - 4:24:16 PM

WEST HOLLYWOOD—The City of West Hollywood is hosting a Community Walkabout and Bike Ride in and around the area on Saturday, July 20.

The Walkabout and Bike Ride is a way to gather input from the community on walking and biking conditions in the City to inform strategies for the Pedestrian and Bicycle Mobility Plan Update.

Participants in the Walkabout and Bike Ride will visit key parts of the City to look at the design and quality of the walking and biking environment. Then participants will discuss what types of improvements would make West Hollywood a more comfortable place to walk and bike.

To participate in the Walkabout, participants should meet at the City of West Hollywood City Hall at 8300 Santa Monica Boulevard at 10:30 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to bring a hat, sunscreen, a camera, comfortable walking shoes if they are walking. If the participant is biking they are encouraged to bring a bike, a lock and a helmet. To arrange for a bike rental, participants should contact Georgia Sheridan at 323-848-6357.

For those unable to attend the tour but still wanting to participate, the city will also post a DIY bike and walking tour online and community members will be able to share their ideas on the City’s interactive “Shareabouts” map at http://walkbikeweho.com/ideas
