Searching For Missing UCLA Student
Posted by Eva Keqi on Aug 6, 2012 - 11:36:16 AM

WESTWOOD—UCLA honors student David John Goeser has been missing since July 22. UCLA campus officials, family, and friends are collaborating to search for David, who has been missing for two weeks now.

On July 25, the Los Angeles Police Department sent out a news release asking for public’s help to locate the missing student. The news release provides photos and information about the circumstances. According to this release, his roommates last saw Goeser on July 22, around 10 p.m. at his Westwood apartment.

Having not heard from Goeser for over a week, family members went to his apartment. There they found his cell phone, identification, and credit cards, but there was no sign of Goeser himself. His family is very concerned for his health. They have declared that David is under doctor’s care and needs to be on medication on a regular basis.

UCLA public officials have committed to help Goeser’s family in locating him. They are collaborating with other UC campuses to distribute a flier with his information. This flier was initially posted on a Facebook page created by David’s family. According to the flier, David’s car was found on July 25 in Pacific Palisades and it is possible that he may have headed to Vancouver, WA, with public transportation.

On Sunday, August 5, the Facebook page (facebook.com/FindDavidGoeser) organized a search in the Pacific Palisades area with the collaboration of California Search & Rescue Organization. According to the Facebook page more than 75 volunteers came out to help search David. The area they are covering is hoped to provide additional information on David’s whereabouts.

Anyone with information on Goeser is asked to contact the Los Angeles Police Department, Missing Persons Unit, (213) 996-1800.
