WESTWOOD—On Tuesday, June 25, the UCLA baseball team won the NCAA College World Series Title against Mississippi State 8-0.

This was UCLA’s first NCAA College World Series in baseball and gave the university its 109th NCAA Championship title. The Bruins played ball against the Bulldogs. The game ended with fireworks exploding in the Nebraskan sky and the team getting into a dog pile in the middle of the field.

Players, staff, and coaches proudly sported their blue and gold “National Champion” baseball caps as they all gave each other hugs and high-fives. During the UCLA CWSS Press Conference, Coach John Savage, congratulated Mississippi State for their great season.

“So proud of our program, players, coaches. This is for the UCLA Baseball Family...all the people that have been meaningful to this program for many many years. Certainly before I got there. I don’t think any of the experts thought would be here at this stage. We did it the right way. We played baseball. And good baseball. We pitched. We defended. We had quality offense, opportunistic offense. At the end of the day we outlasted everybody.”
