Westwood's Crimes Are Up

WESTWOOD—Crimes are up this week in a few Los Angeles neighborhoods, with the city of Westwood among them.

Despite the city’s reputation of being one of the safer neighborhoods in the Los Angeles County, according to LAPD crime reports there has been a significant increase of violent crimes and property crimes within the last week. Over the past week, there have been five thefts, three vehicle break-ins, and two violent crimes.

The latter included two aggravated assaults, with one that took place on December 22 at 10:10 p.m. on Avenue of the Stars and Santa Monica Boulevard.  The other incident occurred at Sepulveda and Santa Monica Boulevard on the same day at 8:05 p.m.
