Worker Dies After Falling Into Trench

WESTWOOD—A man who may have been working for a private plumbing company fell into a 20-foot-deep trench on Friday, July 12. The Los Angeles Fire Department believes the man may have died during the fall after suffering electric shock.


Fifty-five officials responded to the incident which occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Malcolm Avenue. After finding the man unconscious at the bottom of the trench, officials got to work pulling him out.


Just before 11 a.m., medics concluded that the worker could not be revived and was pronounced dead. The Coroner’s office will determine the final cause of death.
