WOODLAND HILLS—The adult film star Damien Michaels was found dead early last week while staying in a motel in Woodland Hills. According to available information, the body of Michaels was found on Tuesday, October 27, with stabbing wounds. Michaels was most likely stabbed within hours of being found by authorities.

The investigation is being treated as a homicide.
  
An official from the LAPD confirmed to Canyon News that the LAPD's Topanga Community Police Station is the division covering the investigation. Detective Peteque stated to Canyon  News that Damien Michaels was not birth name of the victim, but was his stage name. Det. Peteque confirmed that Williams was 56 years of age at the time of his death.
  
Det. Peteque  informed Canyon News that “the call [to authorities] came at around 10” in the morning on October 27. No arrests have been made yet. “We are conducting interviews at this point,” Det. Peteque stated.
  
The police have not yet named any suspects in the investigation. It is unclear at present whether Michaels had any known enemies or if this was a random attack. It is also unknown whether Michaels leaves behind a significant other.
  
The Brooklyn-born Michaels was known for his roles in at least four dozen pornographic movies since 1994. According to the Internet Movie Database, Michaels had credits as both an adult film actor and a director. Michaels had previously stated that he was a member of SAG before embarking on a career in pornography.

In a YouTube interview posted before the demise of the actor, Michaels explained how he became an adult actor. "How I started was an accident. I used to do mainstream movies and television," he explained.
  
Unsatisfied with the way he was getting work, Michaels set up his own adult film agency and became the lead agent. "[I] just went out and got girls everywhere, from bus stops to supermarkets to whatever," Michaels stated in the same video.

His easygoing explanation of encouraging girls to become pornographic stars would later incite some controversy. He also boasted of having found girls walking along streets and around gas stations.
  
"Everybody in the business knows that's what I'm known to do," Michaels added.
  
Michaels’s body was found at a Comfort Inn hotel around Woodland Hills. The only Comfort Inn in Woodland Hills is located at 20157 Ventura Boulevard, according to the Comfort Inn Web site.
  
Between October 4 and October 31 of this year, only one homicide was reported in the Topanga area, according to LAPD statistics on violent crimes. The department currently lists no arrests between October 4 and October 31 for homicide.
