Laura L. Purviance, who was born on April 29, 1988, was charged with the February 13 murder of Caroline Purviance, 61.  Her mom’s body was found on the 5600 block of Mason Avenue.  “The felony complaint for arrest warrant, filed February 19, alleges Purviance personally and intentionally discharged a handgun,” states a press released from the District Attorney’s Office website.

The suspect was arrested on Friday, February 22 by Oregon State Troopers near a rest stop in Medford, Oregon. She appeared in a Van Nuys court on Wednesday, but her arraignment has been pushed back to March 21 in Department 100.  Purviance is being held on a $2 million bail.  If she is convicted she could spend life in prison.
