WOODLAND HILLS—Nicole Ryan, a 10-year-old girl from Northridge was kidnapped from her home on Wednesday, March 27. She was missing for almost twelve hours before reportedly being dropped off in Woodland Hills. While it is unclear who dropped the young girl off, law enforcement is currently reviewing video tape footage and the girl is receiving treatment. No arrest has been made at this point.
According to law enforcement officials, the 10-year-old girl’s mother checked in on her daughter’s bedroom at 1 a.m. and her daughter was there. However, when she checked in on her at 3:40 a.m., the young girl was missing.
The helicopter that was surveying the area where the girl was found showed the redheaded 10-year-old girl barefoot, wearing an over-sized white shirt, but otherwise appeared to be in good health. However, it was noted by a source that the girl was last seen in a black shirt.
Police have taped off Woodland Hills Academy and are checking cars as they exit the parking lot in case the suspect is still in the surrounding area. The US-101 off ramp to DeSoto has also been closed off in an attempt to keep the area as restricted as possible while they continue to search for the suspect.
Some theories have risen that the suspect who kidnapped the girl may work in one of the businesses in the area that the young girl was dropped off, but no evidence has been found to support this. Police officials are continuing to review surveillance footage from the businesses that are around the intersection where the girl was dropped off to find any leads on the kidnapping.
