BEVERLY HILLS—The Beverly Hills Police Department received a call of an auto burglary in progress on Thursday, July 28, according to a press release from the BHPD. The suspects who caused the call are responsible for multiple auto burglaries in the region.

The burglary in progress occurred on Olympic Boulevard and Rodeo Drive. A witness saw a red Honda SUV pull up on Rodeo Drive south of Olympic Boulevard. A male, black suspect got out of the SUV and proceeded to smash the window of a blue CLK Mercedes Benz. The suspect removed a bag from the vehicle.

Responding BHPD officers saw the suspect fleeing the area in the vehicle and a pursuit began. As the vehicle fled, the suspects were seen throwing property from the moving car. The pursuit ended in the area of La Cienega Boulevard and Horner Avenue. Three suspects fled on foot. Two suspects were taken into custody and the third suspect was able to elude capture.

Gerardo Calderon, 37, from Los Angeles, and Nataly Sernas, 20, from Los Angeles, were arrested for burglary. BHPD Lieutenant Lincoln Hoshino told Canyon News in an email that the investigation has not revealed the identity of the third suspect.

The investigations revealed that the three suspects are also responsible for multiple auto burglaries and were driving a stolen vehicle at the time of arrest. Hoshino told Canyon News that it is unknown if all the victims of the auto burglaries have been identified.
