BRENTWOOD—The Brentwood home of “Golden Girls” star Bea Arthur was listed for sale on Tuesday, June 16 for close to $16 million. The 7,000 square foot home, designed by Cliff May, the father of the California ranch home, was built in 1924 and boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a media room, “gourmet kitchen/great room,” a library and a gym, among other living spaces. A pool, spa, tennis court, hiking trails and waterfalls are also located on the nearly 4-acre property.

Arthur purchased the property in 1978 following her divorce from Broadway director Gene Saks and lived in the home until her death in 2009. Since then, the property has been offered for lease until it was officially listed for sale by her estate.

Arthur, who served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, was the winner of two Emmy Awards and one Tony Award for her works on stage and television.
