BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills will be turning 100 on January 28, 2014 and to celebrate the milestone, resident centenarians of Beverly Hills will be honored during a council meeting on January 21, 2014.

The city has been putting together various aspects to make the centennial one that will be hard to forget; with a New Year’s Rose Parade float designed to announce the coming of the centennial, a tree planting and commemorative rose bush, a centennial time capsule to place memories and artifacts, a cookbook to include recipes from Beverly Hills’ prestigious chefs, a new postage stamp, and several events to remember the past and explore ideas for the future of the city.

To add to the celebration, the city council invites centenarians, if their birthday falls on or before the date of the council meeting, to come to the City Council meeting to be honored. People who are, or know of a centenarian who lives or has lived in Beverly Hills are encouraged to contact Jane Winston-Doman by phone at (310) 285-6843 or via email at jdoman@beverlyhills.org.
