BEVERLY HILLS—On November 7, local and federal officials ceremonially broke ground on an extension of the city’s LA Metro Purple Line.

Covering four-miles and costing $2.8 billion, the extension, scheduled to open in 2023, will provide train accessibility to the Beverly Hills area.

The expansion will not end there. By 2035, the extension is scheduled to reach 5 miles west of the current project, passing through Beverly Hills and ending past UCLA.

In an effort to make room for the immense project, the movement of underground utility lanes has already begun.
