BEVERLY HILLS—The Beverly Hills Bike Share will join Santa Monica (Breeze Bike Share), West Hollywood (WeHo Pedals Bike Share) and UCLA (Bruin Bike Share) on Monday, April 23 to launch Bike Share Connect, a bike share network available for residents, commuters and visitors alike.

The network includes a 35-square mile system area with 830 GPS-connected “smart bikes” and 135 station locations. The integrated GPS and locking mechanism, standard on every bike, allows users to lock up at any public bike rack, and find available bikes at stations using the Social Bicycles app.

Users will have access to more bikes in more places for the same price throughout the system. Existing users of the Beverly Hills Bike Share, Breeze Bike Share, WeHo Pedals Bike Share, or Bruin Bike Share programs automatically have access to the Bike Share Connect network. New users can join the network by visiting BeverlyHillsBikeShare.com or downloading the Social Bicycles mobile app, selecting the Bike Share Connect network, and choosing a payment plan.

Residents, commuters, or visitors without a smartphone or internet access can create an account at any time at one of the 16 self-service kiosks in the network. The member enters a phone number or six-digit account number and a four-digit PIN (located on the back of the bike) to unlock the bike in the system.

To celebrate Bike Month, Bike Share Connect is giving 20 percent off new annual memberships in May when participants sign up with promo code BIKEMONTH2018. An annual membership includes 90 minutes of daily ride time for 365 days across the four bike share systems.

According to a press release from the city of Santa Monica, to date, the Breeze Bike Share system has attracted over 87,000 subscribers, who have rode over 1,523,726 miles on over 690,000 trips. The Santa Monica City Council approved the bike share regional integration at its November 14, 2017 meeting.
