BRENTWOOD—On Tuesday, September 4, a bobcat broke through the glass door of a Brentwood home, startling the residents who were sleeping. The home is located in the 1800 block of Old Ranch Road.

LAPD Officer Jeff Lee informed the Los Angeles Times that the homeowners heard loud noises believed to come from the backyard. Officers responded to a call at around 11:45 p.m., when they began to search for the bobcat. The animal was not found.

“My partner joked that we’re going to book the bobcat for felony vandalism,” Lee told the LA Times.

An officer with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife was called to the scene. Authorities have indicated there’s no threat to the area. Wildlife sightings are common in the neighborhood.
