GRIFFITH PARK—The body of a woman was discovered on Tuesday, January 29 in Griffith Park.

According to reports, at around 11:00 a.m. a park ranger found the woman wrapped in what was either a sleeping bag or a blanket. The victim was found near the southeast end of the 4,200 acre Griffith Park, along Red Oak Drive and close to Ferndell Drive.

The coroner’s office determined that it was a suspicious death, and the victim is believed to be between 30 to 40 years old. A homicide investigation is underway. A cause of death has not yet been released to the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
