STUDIO CITY—A body that was found inside a burning vehicle last Wednesday, September 1, has been identifiedby the Los Angeles County Coroner as 50-year-old Russell Rathert from Van Nuys.
“The cause of death will continue to be listed as Undetermined until the Coroner’s Office receives the final toxicology report,” stated the Los Angeles Police Department. When the autopsy occurred, no injuries were found on the victim’s body and evidence also indicated Rathert was deceased before the fire occurred.
The case is currently not being handled as a criminal homicide “pending the results of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office determination as to a cause of death,” according to the LAPD.
