WOODLAND HILLS—A suspicious package that was found outside a grocery store parking lot was called in to local authorities on Thursday, December 10. The item in question was thought to be a bomb.

According to the Woodland Hills Patch, the LAPD bomb squad responded after 1 p.m. to investigate the package. The item was found at the corner of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard near the Ralph’s grocery store parking lot.

The item in question posed no threat to the public and the area was declared safe by the Los Angeles Police Department by 2:40 p.m.

The LAPD’s Media Relations Section confirmed to Canyon News that the item in question was actually a box of marketing supplies. Authorities have not yet identified any known suspects at this time.
