HOLLYWOOD—Well for the consecutive weekend, it was a comedy that intrigued moviegoers, as Tyler Perry’s “Boo! A Madea Halloween” claimed the top spot at the box-office. The comedy added another $16.7 million to its tally to bring its domestic total over $50 million in just 10 days. Not bad for a character trope that many thought was over-exhausted.

Landing in second place was the third installment in “The Da Vinci Code” franchise, “Inferno” with a disappointing $15 million during its opening weekend. This latest installment starring Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones, while heavily advertised, couldn’t woo audiences to the multiplex over the Halloween weekend.

Nabbing third place was “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back” with $9.5 million. In 2 weeks the sequel has earned about $40 million at the domestic box-office. It’s safe to argue the flick is not likely to reach the box-office success of its predecessor. “The Accountant” is still holding strong for audiences with another $8.5 million to bring its domestic total to over $61 million. Rounding out the top five was the horror flick “Ouija: Origin of Evil” with $7.1 million.

This weekend sees the release of Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” and the animated flick “Trolls.” Hmm, I wonder who will reign supreme at the box-office. I think the answer is obvious.
