BEVERLY HILLSA suspect believed to be involved in a bank robbery has been shot by a police officer in the lobby of the Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The shooting, taking place at approximately 4:20 p.m. on December 1, at 360 North Rodeo Drive, followed the 4:00 p.m. robbery of the Bank of America branch located on North Beverly Drive.

Police were reportedly led to the hotel by a tracking device in a bag of money taken from the bank. They then engaged the suspect who was armed. Authorities shot the suspect before taking him into custody.

Described as wearing all black, including a black bandana, the suspect is believed to have an at-large accomplice.

The suspect is in critical condition and reportedly in surgery, and his wounds are not believed to be fatal. He was reportedly alert and talking to paramedics before being rushed by ambulance to an unknown location.
