MALIBU—On February 7, Bruce Jenner (now known as Caitlyn Jenner) was involved in a fatal multi-car accident that killed the driver of one vehicle and injured several others, including the driver of another vehicle who is now filing suit. Family members of the victim, Kim Howe, have already filed suit against “Bruce Jenner,” and now Caitlyn Jenner is being sued by the driver of a second vehicle, Jessica Steindorff.
The second suit uses both Bruce and Caitlyn to refer to the former Olympic athlete and TV personality, who recently announced that she is a transwoman. Jenner has spoken out about the validity of the first lawsuit, asking that it be thrown out based on the negligent relationship Kim Howe had with her stepchildren. They claim that Jenner does not have the right to judge the status of their relationships with their stepmother.
Jenner has yet to comment on the second suit filed against her. She is being sued by Steindorff for lost wages, property damage and medical expenses on the grounds of Jenner operating the vehicle with general negligence. The actual monetary sum of the lawsuit is undisclosed.
There is an ongoing criminal probe of the case that has yet to determine if Jenner was at fault for the crash. Jenner is facing possible misdemeanor charges, but according to sources it is unlikely she will face any manslaughter charges. The investigation is expected to reach the District Attorney sometime later this summer.
