HOLLYWOOD—For the second consecutive weekend, the Marvel superhero “Captain Marvel” was victorious at the box-office. “Captain Marvel” dropped nearly 50 percent, but still managed to haul in “$69” million. After about 10 days in theaters, the film has already earned over $266 million at the domestic box-office.

Nabbing second place was the animated flick “Wonder Park” with $16 million. For a film that cost more than $100 million to make, it’s not likely it will recoup those costs in the United States. The tearjerker “Five Feet Apart” starring Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson landed in third place with $13.2 million. The animated flick “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” dropped to fourth place with $9.3 million bringing its domestic tally to $135 million.

Rounding out the top five was the comedy “A Madea Family Funeral” with $8 million. The film, which marks Perry’s film appearance on the big screen as the iconic character, Madea has earned a total of $59 million at the domestic box-office. This weekend sees the release of Jordan Peele’s highly anticipated thriller “Us” starring Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o. The buzz on this flick is strong and it just may dethrone “Captain Marvel” from the top spot at the box-office.
