SHERMAN OAKS/LAUREL CANYON—Officers from the California Highway Patrol were in pursuit of a White Ford Sedan driver south of Van Nuys Boulevard that ended when the suspect broke out into break dancing before he was taken into custody on Tuesday, March 19.

After officials received a report of an erratic driver in the Agoura Hills area, CHP Officers attempted to pull over a man in the four-door sedan in Calabasas. The driver failed to comply with authorities which led to a pursuit on the 101 Freeway traveling eastbound. The driver shifted into the 405 Freeway Northbound and took the 118 Freeway eastbound fluctuating between 80 to 100 mph.

The chase ended in Pacoima, south of Van Nuys Boulevard on Laurel Canyon, when police performed a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle at around 10:40 p.m. As the suspect was called out of the vehicle, officers aimed their guns at the driver and directed him to follow standard felony traffic stop instructions.

The suspect complied initially until he started break dancing. At the end of the dance, the suspect made a gesture seeking applause and returned to following officers instructions where he was taken into custody without incident. The name of the suspect has not yet been disclosed to the public. Authorities have not disclosed if the driver was impaired during the incident.
