LOS FELIZ—A pursuit that started in Silver Lake ended in a violent crashed that ignited a small brush fire on Glendale Boulevard and Waterloo Street on Thursday, June 13. Multiple suspects escaped on foot after the crash, but authorities arrested the driver and one other suspect. Officers responded to a burglary in process call located on the 200 block of West Kenneth Road shortly before 4 p.m.

According to Glendale Police Department Sergeant Dan Suttles, a report was made by a resident that witnessed a group of individuals, two men and two women, leave the home of a neighbor and enter a vehicle and drive off.

A description of the vehicle, a dark gray Toyota Avalon rental car was broadcasted. The car was spotted driving on the Golden State 5 freeway by a police officer. The officer attempted to pull over the suspects, but the driver would not yield. According to Sergeant Suttles, the driver stopped near Los Feliz Boulevard to let out two men and a woman who fled the scene and escaped on foot. Suttles informed Canyon News that several police units were involved in the chase.

The female suspect continued driving onto the Glendale 2 freeway onramp and exited North on Glendale Boulevard near the end of the freeway where she crashed into another vehicle. The collision sparked a small brush fire on the side of the road which the Los Angeles Fire Department quickly extinguished.

One of the suspects was taken to a hospital to be examined for injuries and was arrested on suspicion of burglary. The driver was also taken to a hospital to be treated for pain sustained and was taken into custody. Sergeant Dan Suttles informed Canyon News that there were no injuries aside from the complaints of pain from the driver.
