Catering Truck Plows Into Swarm Of Angry Bees

WEST HOLLYWOOD—A violent crash in which a catering truck plowed into a tree housing a large beehive left three people in critical condition on Saturday, June 6.

At approximately 12:20 p.m., Los Angeles City and County firefighters responded to reports of an accident in West Hollywood.

Arriving to the crash scene, located on the 1100 block of North Doheny Drive, firefighters extricated three people from the catering vehicle amid a swarm of incensed bees.

Once removed from the vehicle, all three passengers were transported to local trauma centers in critical condition.

During the rescue effort, a responding sheriff’s deputy suffered an allergic reaction after sustaining an undisclosed number of bee stings.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. The names of the victims have not been released to the public.
