HOLLYWOOD—I think I was the only person in the world who hadn’t seen “Cats,” the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that opened in London back in 1981. It has been playing worldwide with great success to this date. Seeing this current production at the Pantages was a treat for the eyes, ears and heart. You don’t have to be a cat lover to enjoy these sinuous and exotic creatures. You will be held spellbound by their melodious antics onstage and in the aisles.

The setting, lighting and effects are magical. This is ensemble playing at its utmost. The cast moves as one and the choreography is amazing, making an awesome feline statement.

There are too many outstanding performance moments to list, but of course, the has-been glamorous (Grizabella) Anastasia Lange has the show stopping 11 o’clock moment. Chris Mackenthun (Mistoffelees), Nathan Morgan (Asparagus) Drew Roelofs (Macavity) Lucy Horton (Jellylorum) are just a few of this incredible cast that make Cats a memorable experience.

The show has a short run in Los Angeles (March 9-21, 2010) so please bring the youngsters and a new generation to enjoy a brilliant experience and make beautiful memories.
