MALIBU—Malibu’s 30th Annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon, presented by Equinox, raised upwards of $1 million last week and featured a medley of stars competing for the cause.

The event, which transpired on Saturday, September 17, was attended by thousands of world-class athletes who swam, biked and ran along the Pacific coast.

The funds raised were donated to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ Pediatric Cancer Research Program—a leader in innovative research focused on curing and preventing cancer in children; the donation—of approximately $1,226,000—supports the program’s mission to advance groundbreaking treatment for children with some of the deadliest forms of cancer.

Celebrities in attendance included actor Zac Efron, his 24-year-old “little” brother, Dylan, Olympian Conor Dwyer and actor James Marsden.

“Racing for @childrensla with the TEAM #NauticaMalibuTri,” Zac captioned a photo with Dylan and Conor at the event.

The race entailed a half-mile swim in the ocean, 18-mile bike ride and four-mile run.

In addition to the main race, friends, family and other supporters were invited to partake in several activities in the “Fun Zone” – where they hosted games, a photo booth and the Nautica Kids Run and Tot Trot.
