SAN JOSE—R&B star Chris Brown made an appearance at a San Jose nightclub on January 10, that ended in gunfire. While hosting the private party, one person in the crowd opened fire, leaving five people injured.

The shooting occurred at around 1:20 a.m. at the Fiesta Nightclub located at 3840 Monterey Highway.

Four of the victims were treated inside the club, while a fifth person went to the hospital on their own. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening and the five people were all listed in stable condition.

Officers with the San Jose Police Department recommended increased security before the show to the owner, but witnesses claimed that the security did not properly check patrons for weapons.

The San Jose Police reported that the occupancy for the show was at around 700 people. Brown, who was not injured, was captured on multiple cell phone videos, followed by the sound of the gunshots.

Several people were detained after the show, but later released after questioning. Police are still looking for the gunman in the shooting. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 408-277-4161.
