SANTA MONICA—The city of Santa Monica will begin hosting weekly hands-on workshops in January 2018 on the basics of website development and programming.

The “Website Building Workshop Series” will take place on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the Main Branch of the Santa Monica Library on 601 Santa Monica Boulevard.

The workshops will consist of four two-hour sessions. The January 2 and January 9 classes will feature basic HTML instruction, while the January 16 session will be devoted to learning the fundamentals of CSS. The final workshop on January 23 will deal with combining both elements to create functional and aesthetically pleasing websites.

No prior experience is necessary, and all workshops are free to the public. Participants are encouraged to attend all of the seminars as each builds on the lessons of the one before. Requests for disability-related accommodations should be made at least one week prior to the workshops by calling (310) 458-8606.
